Old Photographs, Weekend Stories, and Relaxation

Happy Friday Everyone!

I hope your week was stress-free and wonderful, or as close to it as possible. I am so glad it's Friday! It's without a doubt my favorite day of the workweek, and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone here. The world seems a little more laidback on Fridays.

Isn't this photo fun? The lovely lady pictured looks so happy. She's driving off into the sunset with her favorite guy on a Saturday and loving every minute of it. She's a woman who knows what she wants and how to get it, and nothing will stop her. She is loving life, or at least that's how I imagine it.

I love old photographs. It doesn't matter whether or not I know who they are. I just love to look at them and imagine what life was like. Old pictures are windows to history, a glimpse into a time gone by; they tell us stories about the people and places of the past, and isn't it fortunate we have them to look at.

What stories will you create this weekend? Over the past few weekends, I have paid close attention to what kind of environment I am creating and what I am spending my time doing. The weekend should be a time of restoration, calm, and relaxation. Lately, I've been in love with Saturday mornings. I get to sleep until I naturally wake up, and in this house, I'm always the first one up, which gives me a little quiet time before the weekend takes off. I take the time to sit and reflect and leisurely drink my coffee. This is particularly exciting for me since, during the week, coffee and multitasking is whats happening. I spend the morning listening to uplifting podcasts, planning out my weekend, and writing in my journals. It's my jam.

This weekend I plan to create stories of fun, laughter, lots of love, and relaxation. I wish the same for you.
